A downloadable game

Isekai/Online: On The Shores of Awakening is an expanded remake/remaster of Beta Test Blues from the 2020 My First Game Jam.

I/O: Shores is the story of Deedee Yeowoo and her guildmates in Another World Online: Mundane Fantasy Historia, the most popular VR MMO of  the Virtual 2040's.

Somehow, without warning, when she and every other member of the North American Chimera server tried out the latest DLC, they were instead mysteriously translated to the game world as their characters - at first level, and with only the most basic starter equipment...

And oh, yeah, this is how Deedee found out she was really a girl.  It's complicated.

Now she and her friends are five of around 15,000 players dropped into the world of Mundus alongside the people of Viacruz, the starter city with a canonical population of 256,000.

But people don't just show up as their avatars in VR games, and this isn't the first such game on the market (or even by the increasingly unfortunately named Other Worlds Tourism Bureau, the company responsible for AWO and many other VR games).  The neurohelms used for full sensory immersion are a mature technology, first developed by DARPA for cyberwarfare.  Is this some kind of cyberattack, or worse?  Can Deedee and friends get home?  Should they even try? And what other glitches and side effects resulted from whatever trapped them in Another World to begin with?

This new and expanded game will feature:

  • A party of queer disasters lead by a freshly-hatched trans girl
  • Original concept by Talia Belser with additional scenario and character concepts by FoxHana, Bii and Matthew Doyle
  • Logos and iconography by Bii
  • Concept art by Ruka with final production designs by Emma Glaze
  • Talksprites by MakioKuta (April Was A Fool, Weird And Unfortunate Things Are Happening)
  • At least five areas: the titular Shores of Awakening, the City of Viacruz, Ghibli Fields, The Neverneverglades, and the Lost Temple of ($NULL_POINTER_ERROR)
  • Dialogue trees with choices and consequences
  • The beginning of  romance paths with each other party member
  • Variables tracking the eventual multiple endings, depending on if you favor the "Stay," "Escape," or "Analyze" factions
  • An original OST by Bibichu with original sound effects by Arin Eakins
  • Punchable fascists
  • Jokes about real MMOs, mostly those involving cattes and potatoes

Currently in preproduction.
